The village of Hinsdale submitted its own design to widen Interstate 294, developing an alternate plan for the stretch of tollway between Ogden Avenue and 55th Street. However, Illinois Tollway officials say their plan would impact residential property in Western Springs, does not meet certain safety guidelines, and would potentially shift the center line of Interstate 294 to the east.
